How to Use Beef Tallow Balm in Your Routine | Meadow & Glow

New to tallow balm? Learn how much to use, when to apply it and how to incorporate tallow into your existing skincare routine.

How to Use Beef Tallow Balm in Your Routine

Tallow balm may be different from the moisturizers you're used to, but using it doesn't require a complicated routine.

Because it's a rich, water-free formula, a little goes a long way. The key is knowing how much to use — and when to apply it.

Start with less than you think

Begin with a small amount of balm. Warm it between your fingertips for a few seconds, then gently press or massage it into your skin.

You can always add more, but starting with less helps the balm absorb comfortably without leaving skin feeling overly rich.

Apply to slightly damp skin

Tallow balm doesn't contain water, so we especially like applying it after cleansing while the skin is still slightly damp.

You can also use it after a hydrating product already in your routine. The balm provides an emollient and occlusive layer that helps soften the skin and reduce moisture loss.

How to use tallow balm on your face

For a simple routine:

  1. Cleanse with a gentle cleanser.
  2. Leave skin slightly damp or apply your usual hydrating product.
  3. Warm a small amount of tallow balm between your fingertips.
  4. Gently press it into the face and neck.

That's it.

If your skin prefers lighter moisture during the day, tallow balm can also work beautifully as the final moisturizing step in your evening routine.

What about serums and other skincare?

You don't have to give up the rest of your routine to use tallow.

If you use toners, serums or other water-based products, apply those first. Follow with your tallow balm as your moisturizing step.

And during the day, finish with your preferred sunscreen.

Tallow doesn't need to replace everything. It simply needs to earn its place in your routine.

Where else can you use it?

Tallow-based moisturizers aren't only for the face.

Richer formulas can be particularly useful anywhere skin tends to feel dry — hands, elbows, knees, feet and other areas that need a little extra moisture.

For the body, applying after a shower or bath while skin is still slightly damp is an easy way to incorporate a body butter into your routine.

Morning or night?

Either.

Your skin, climate and personal preference matter more than a rigid rule.

Some people enjoy a small amount in the morning. Others prefer the richer feel of a balm at night. You may also find yourself reaching for it more often during colder, drier months.

Find the rhythm that works for your skin.

Keep it simple

Good skincare doesn't have to mean more steps.

Use what serves your skin. Skip what doesn't. And choose products thoughtfully.

That's the approach behind Meadow & Glow: purposeful formulas designed to make everyday skincare feel a little simpler.
